Pre-season Training For Women's Match Officials Comes To An End At Kasarani.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has completed a three-day pre-season PET training for Women Premier League match officials at Kasarani Stadium.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa emphasized the importance of this training in preparing for the upcoming 2023/24 season. He highlighted the need for officials to be well-versed in the new rules of the game.
“This pre-season PET is vital to ensure our officials are well-trained and understand the new laws of the game ahead of the 2023/24 season," Mwendwa stated
He also underscored the goal of having officials who prioritize fairness and justice in their decisions and warned against involvement in match-fixing.
“We want to make sure that our match officials are upright, they understand fairness and justice, and are aware of how their decisions can impact the game for the better or worse. They also need to understand that if found taking part in match-fixing activities they will face the repercussions.”He added.
The training involved 114 match officials and 45 match commissioners from the top-tier leagues. It encompassed endurance and agility drills and medical tests to assess fitness for officiating matches.
Instructors included Sylvester Kirwa, Stephen Oduor, Dorcas Moraa, Moses Osano, and Tabitha Njoroge. The event was attended by FKF NEC Member Anthony Makua, FKF Nairobi West Chairman Caleb Malweyi, and FKF CEO Barry Otieno.
