President William Ruto on Monday hosted Migori Youth Football Club at State House, Nairobi, where he rewarded the newly promoted FKF Premier League side with a new 51-seater team bus and a KSh 10 million cash award. The support comes as recognition of the club's impressive performance in the National Super League, which earned it promotion to Kenya's top-flight football competition.

The ceremony brought together the club's players, technical bench, management, and officials, including the club's patron, Hon. Mark Nyamita, who has been instrumental in supporting the team's rise. The President congratulated the team for its determination and discipline, describing their promotion as a source of pride for Migori County and the country at large.

President Ruto said the government's continued investment in sports is aimed at nurturing talent, creating opportunities for young people, and strengthening Kenya's sporting sector. He emphasized that football has the potential to transform lives by creating employment, promoting national unity, and showcasing Kenyan talent on the international stage.

As part of the government's support, the President officially handed over a new 51-seater bus to Migori Youth FC. The vehicle is expected to ease the club's travel logistics as it prepares to compete in the FKF Premier League during the upcoming season.

In addition to the bus, President Ruto announced a KSh 10 million financial package to help the club strengthen its preparations for life in the top division. The funding is intended to support operational costs, improve player welfare, and enhance the club's competitiveness as it embarks on its maiden Premier League campaign.

One of the memorable moments during the event came when President Ruto took the driver's seat and personally drove the team's new bus around the State House grounds. The gesture was met with excitement from players and officials, who cheered as the President celebrated the club's latest milestone.

The President also reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving sports infrastructure across the country. He noted that the newly constructed stadium in Migori is expected to provide the club with a modern home venue while creating more opportunities for sports development within the county.

Addressing the players, President Ruto challenged them not to settle for promotion alone but to compete strongly against established Premier League clubs. He encouraged the team to maintain the discipline and teamwork that had earned them success in the National Super League.

Hon. Mark Nyamita expressed gratitude to the President for honoring his earlier pledge to support the club. He described the bus and financial support as a major boost that would help Migori Youth FC prepare adequately for the challenges of top-flight football while inspiring young footballers across the region.

Migori Youth FC has enjoyed a remarkable rise through Kenyan football, earning promotion after an outstanding National Super League campaign. The club's success has generated excitement among football fans in Migori County, who now look forward to seeing their team compete against the country's elite clubs in the FKF Premier League.

The State House reception marks a significant milestone in the club's history and highlights growing government support for sports development in Kenya. With a new team bus, financial backing, and renewed confidence, Migori Youth FC enters the next chapter of its journey with high expectations as it prepares for its first season in the FKF Premier League.
