Nzoia Sugar reclaimed top spot in the FKF Premier League table despite a barren draw against visitors AFC Leopards on Sunday.

The league leaders are ahead with 28 points from 14 matches, one point ahead of Gor Mahia, who won 1-0 against Nairobi City Stars on Saturday briefly enjoying the lead.

Leopards however dominated the game and led most of the attacking despite being the underdogs but could not capitalise on their chances.

Nzoia came close to hitting the target in the 70th minute through Ian Simiyu’s effort from a corner set piece, but hit the woodwork denying the leaders a chance.

Despite the stalemate, AFC Leopards were the better side of the afternoon causing problems for Nzoia sugar on several occasions and it proves exactly why they have been a tough opponent in recent matches.

Elsewhere, Kenya Police FC now sit fifth position with 24points in what was a crucial 1-0 victory against Bidco United.

Striker Elvis Rupia found the net in the 43rd minute of the match when he turned well to fire into the back of the net with Bidco goalkeeper Daniel Odiwour well-beaten.

Police could have extended their lead late when Thomas Wainaina was penalized for a dangerous tackle just outside the 18-yard area, but Musa Mohamed’s effort went wide.
