Current champions Gor Mahia triumphed 1-0 in a tensed Mashemeji derby against AFC Leopards, despite playing with ten men at the Nyayo National stadium.

Austin Omondi’s goal was the difference between the two rivals as Leopards failed to capitalize on a number of chances from the 35th minute, when Gor goalkeeper Kevin Omondi was sent off for fouling last-man Victor Omune.

The win sees Gor complete a home and away sweep of their bitter rivals, further moving nine points clear top of the FKF Premier League standings while Leopards sit eighth, seven points off the top four.

Gor Mahia play away against Murang’a seal in their next fixture with AFC Leopards plying trade against Compel sports club in the quarter finals of the shield cup.
