IEBC Voter Verification Exercise Comes To an End
Kenyan voters have until Thursday midnight to verify their registration details with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Addressing the press at the Bomas Of Kenya on Thursday, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati noted that the exercise which commenced on May 4, 2022, and has been ongoing in different constituencies was targeting people who want to change their polling stations and Kenyans living in the diaspora.
Therefore, Kenyans are required to visit registration centers or Independent electoral and boundaries commission offices in their constituency with their original ID or valid passport that they used to register to check their details.
Chebukati revealed that during this period most Kenyans have been able to verify their details via the IEBC website portal, and texts adding that a minimal number used the KIEMS kits.
Voters can send their ID number, Year of Birth Passport Number, or Year of Birth to SMS to 70000 or through the portal of the independent electoral and boundary commission. In case the details of an individual are incorrectly captured, they should visit their registration centers.
The exercise is also ongoing in the following foreign countries; Canada, UAE, United Kingdom, USA, Qatar, South Africa, Germany, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan.
The end of the exercise will pave way for the gazettement of the final voter register which the IEBC boss said will be ready on 9th June.
