Harambee stars in Group F as FIFA 2026 World Cup Africa Qualifiers Draw is out

National football team Harambee Stars has been placed in Group F of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers, in a draw released on Thursday.

Kenya, will play Ivory Coast, Gabon, Gambia, Burundi and Seychelles as they seek a maiden qualification ahead of FIFA 2026 World Cup tournament.

FIFA expanded the number of finalists from the previous 32 in Qatar to 48 in North and Central America and Africa are guaranteed a record nine places, and possibly 10. 

Each group winner automatically qualifies and the best four runners-up enter play-offs with the winner going to inter-confederation play-offs, where two slots will be up for grabs.

The qualifiers officially start in November, with a total of 54 African nations competing for the available allocated spots for Africa.

This will be the first time the national team will be returning to Caf and Fifa action after a year-long suspension by the world governing body.
