Ministry of Health has confirmed cases of the covid 19’s Omicron variant, this after World Health Organisation has announced that the new coronavirus variant Omicron is spreading across the globe at an unprecedented rate.
The Ministry of health on Tuesday during the Covid 19 updates, raised concerns over an increase in the positivity rate which is now at 11.5%.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe confirmed this on Wednesday, during a consultative meeting with the Council of Governors at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort to discuss health policy and legislative barriers.
The Health CS said the variant had been detected in three passengers who have been quarantined and has further warned Kenyans to take precautions because it is highly virulent and infectious.
