Boda Boda Sector In Migori County Wants Introduction Of Digital Revenue Collection
Boda Boda riders in Migori county are crying foul over the manner in which the County Government is taxing them and the whole taxation system.
According to their chairman Jack Omondi, they are opposed to the ticketing system that shows fraudulent malpractices on the tickets being issued.
He said that the tickets are written Ksh.100 and they have stamped Ksh. 50, something that they feel is fishy in the revenue collection dockets.
They termed the move as a way to siphon the collected revenue by the revenue and tax collectors in the county.
They want the ticket to be produced for Ksh. 50 per week and not written Ksh. 100 per week and also want the Ksh. 10 tickets that may enable the riders who may not be having Ksh.50 to be able to pay for their daily ticketing.
Another boda boda rider Rynus Onyango termed the move as corrupt and want the revenue and taxation office to make sure that they produce tickets that may not bring many questions to the riders who feel that the current ticketing services are alleged to be fraudulent.
They also want the ticketing and revenue collection to be done digitally and also make sure that they make amends to the tickets that are in circulation in many stopovers in Migori County.
