Musician Kevin ‘Bahati’ Kioko name has finally tasted the ballot papers after his name was gazetted by the IEBC on Sunday. Bahati, who has been out of the woods in his bid to become the next Mathare Member of Parliament, took to celebrating the moment with fans.
The gazettement comes after Bahati, who is vying on a Jubilee Party ticket, had been asked to step down from the race in favor of an ODM candidate under a zoning arrangement in the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition political outfit.
Bahati who has drummed support in the name ‘Mtoto wa Mathare’ has not backed out of the race after having issues with the Azimio zoning committee and brushing shoulders with Sifuna Edwin. Bahati will be facing off against ODM’s Anthony Oluoch, Jacob Karanja (Independent), Usawa Party’s Moses Gachira, Reuben Liyala of the Labour Party and ANC James Madafu.
