Academic Calendar Resumes To Normal
The new academic calendar kicked off on Monday, January 23 as all pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools resume learning.
The basic education schedule will now return to normalcy after Covid 19 disruption which saw the closure of learning institutions and forced the Ministry of Education to revise the term dates.
According to a statement from the office of the Principal Secretary for basic education, the calendar will revert to three terms.
The first term which began today will close on Friday, April 21, 2023, after 13 weeks of learning.
The second term will also be 13 weeks, running from Monday, May 8 to Friday, August 11 with a mid-term break from Thursday, June 29 to Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Third term will run for 10 weeks from Monday August 28 to Saturday November 11 to pave way for December holidays which will take place from November 3 to January.
Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams will kick off from Monday, November 6 to Thursday, November 9 while Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) commences from Friday, November 10 to Friday, December 1 for three weeks.
Meanwhile, form one students are set to report from Monday, February 6 to Monday, February 13, 2023.
