AC Milan Agree Club-Record Deal To Sign Gonçalo Ramos From PSG

AC Milan have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Portugal international Gonçalo Ramos in what is set to become the biggest transfer in the Italian club's history. The deal, reported by journalist James Horncastle and other leading transfer sources, will surpass the fee Milan paid to sign Rafael Leão from Lille in 2019, marking a major statement of intent ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Rossoneri accelerated negotiations in recent days after identifying Ramos as their priority target to strengthen the attack. Discussions between the two clubs progressed quickly, culminating in an agreement for a club-record transfer package. The move is now expected to proceed to the final stages, including the completion of documentation and a medical examination before an official announcement.
The transfer will also become Serie A's most expensive signing since Inter Milan completed the permanent acquisition of Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United for around €74 million in 2019. Ramos joined Paris Saint-Germain from Benfica in 2023 after initially arriving on loan before the transfer was made permanent. During his time in France, he won multiple domestic trophies while competing for a starting role in a squad filled with international stars.
The 25-year-old striker established himself as one of Portugal's leading forwards during his breakthrough years at Benfica, where he emerged from the club's renowned academy. His performances earned him a move to PSG after attracting interest from several top European clubs.
Internationally, Ramos announced himself on the global stage at the 2022 FIFA World Cup when he scored a memorable hat-trick against Switzerland in the Round of 16 after replacing Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal's starting line-up. He has since remained a regular member of the Portuguese national team.
Milan's recruitment team has been searching for a prolific centre-forward capable of leading the club's attack for several years, and Ramos was identified as the ideal profile because of his finishing ability, movement inside the penalty area and work rate without possession.
The signing is expected to strengthen Milan's attacking options significantly as the club prepares for another campaign in Serie A and European competition. Club officials believe Ramos has the qualities required to become one of the team's leading figures over the coming seasons.
