Every day begins and ends with caregiving for one Nakuru family whose lives have been defined by an unrelenting medical reality. In Ngachura, Nakuru County, five children in a single household are living with a rare and severe form of cerebral palsy that has left them unable to walk, speak, or fully understand their surroundings, placing an overwhelming burden on their parents.
According to YouTuber Jeremy Damaris, the family has eight children- five boys and three girls. Three of the boys are completely dependent on their mother for all aspects of daily living. From feeding and bathing to cleaning and carrying them, she provides constant care with little rest and minimal external support. Despite the exhaustion and emotional toll, she remains unwavering in her commitment to her children, doing everything within her power to give them dignity and comfort under extremely challenging circumstances.
While two of the boys and all three girls are healthy, the family’s anguish has deepened as one of the daughters now has two children who are also affected by the same condition. This troubling development has raised fears about possible genetic or environmental causes, leaving the family anxious and uncertain about what the future holds.
The father, who is the family’s sole provider, earns a modest income by sharpening knives, charging only KSh 10 per knife,an amount barely sufficient to meet the family’s basic needs, let alone cover medical care and specialised support.
The family has reached out to well-wishers, faith-based groups, and charitable organisations for prayers, financial assistance, and material support. They say any form of help -whether food, clothing, medical aid, or improved housing could bring hope and significantly change their lives.
