Wajackoya Turned Away By IEBC
Roots Party Presidential Flagbearer, George Wajackoya has been turned away by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for failing to submit the requested number of supporters' signatures.
The aspirant only submitted 17 supporters' signatures against the required 24 to the commission at the national tallying center, Bomas of Kenya.
IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Monday confirmed that Wajackoya had complied with all the recommendations except the supporters' list which he has up to Thursday to submit the remaining number.
"So if you are in a position to do that we can give you an opportunity on the second of June so that you correct the anomalies," said IEBC chairman.
Wajackoyah and his running mate Justina Wamae on the other hand maintain that they will get the signatures to secure their spot in the race for the presidency.
The presidential hopeful vowed to legalize bhang should he clinch power as the 5th president.
The clearance exercise by IEBC started countrywide on Sunday as aspirants presented their documents to the commission.
