Valentine’s Heartbreak? Here Is How To Heal
February is often known for being a month dedicated to and all about love because of Valentine’s Day which falls on date 14.
The month is not only dedicated to romance but also to self-love and self-care, fostering relationships with family and friends, and loving others.
The day was officially marked on Tuesday by several people who believes in its existence and yes not everybody believes in valentines.
The celebration of love usually begins a week earlier, some people extend their celebrations due to various reasons.
For the most fortunate people, it is usually a Rose Day, Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, and Hug Day but to the unfortunate, it is a so-so day that leaves their hearts squeezed with a little fuzzy in their stomachs.
Well, if your valentine was a so-so day or even worse, then as we speak this time should be taxing on your mental and emotional health, and trust me you want to even lock yourself up in a room, put on some sad music, and cry, It is completely understandable.
But wait, below are great ways for you to cope with this situation;
Recognize your feelings
Give yourself the liberty to really feel your emotions. If you want to cry, don’t stop yourself from crying out loud. It’s natural that you are going to feel terrible about dealing with a heartbreak during this time.
Nurture a relationship with yourself
A relationship with yourself is the most important relationship you will have in your life. So, give yourself time check in how you are feeling, and try and turn the negative feelings into positive ones.
Always consider the bright side
A heartbreak can change your outlook of every situation, however, if you see yourself as being liberated, it changes your perception, you have to consider if you would rather stay in a relationship where you feel sad and is riddled with disagreements?
Appreciate yourself
Consider how much you have grown in thinking, and most importantly, in reshuffling your priority in what you need in a partner, take yourself out, you deserve it, and resist the urge to stay alone locked up, and wallow in tears.
Above all Valentine is just but another day, we still have tomorrow.
