Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka held an interactive session with winners and alumni of the Future Africa Leaders Awards (FALA) at Omnia Towers in Lagos, Nigeria on Friday.
The session brought together young African change-makers recognised for their community impact, providing a platform for mentorship and guidance from senior leaders. Kenyatta and Musyoka encouraged participants to embrace purpose, resilience, and service as central pillars of leadership.
The forum focused on overcoming self-doubt, understanding individual purpose, and recognising that meaningful change begins with consistent effort and grounded values.
Kenyatta highlighted that leadership potential exists in everyone, regardless of background, and urged the young leaders to channel their influence toward Africa’s development.
Musyoka, invited as a guest of honour, reflected on his own leadership journey and international recognition, stressing the importance of vision and integrity in public service.
The Future Africa Leaders Awards, founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, aims to celebrate and support exceptional young Africans through mentorship, financial grants, and recognition of innovative service to their communities.
