Tick-tock: Election Campaigns Enters Homestretch

With four days to the 9th August general election, aspirants have intensified their campaigns to woo voters to back their race.

Regarding the latest opinion polls, Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga leads his rival in the August 9 presidential race Deputy President William Ruto by 8 percentage points.

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah comes third with 1.6 percent approval followed by Agano’s David Mwaure at 0.2 percent.

The poll agencies have cautioned that the outcome of the election depends on voter turnout which cannot be predicted by surveys hence aspirants, by all means, are traversing the country urging Kenyans to come out on the 9th of August.

Presidential aspirants have come up with a robust plan for the final touches to pass their campaign messages to Kenyans.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya team on Thursday will tour Kisumu for a major rally at the Jomo Kenyatta International stadium.

On Friday, they will navigate through Lamu, Malindi, and Mombasa Counties with major rallies at Lamu Island, Malindi Town, and the Tononoka grounds.

On Saturday, the Azimio brigade will be at the Kasarani International Sports Centre where Odinga will make his final plea.

On the other hand, the country's second in command William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza, on Thursday, will traverse through Makueni, Kilifi, and Mombasa Counties.

On Friday, the Kenya Kwanza allies will once again pitch their tent at the mountain with rallies in Laikipia, Nyandarua, and Nakuru counties and finalize in Narok and Nairobi counties.

Roots Party presidential candidate George Wajakoya will on Thursday be in Meru before moving to Western Kenya on Friday with his team, however, he has not yet confirmed where he will take his final campaign.

Meanwhile, the Agano Party has a scheduled press conference at its secretariat offices along Ngong Road to address the party’s concerns over the electoral process.

On Friday, the Agano party team will be at prophet Owour’s presidential candidate's prayers in Kasarani, after which on Saturday his team will meet voters of Nairobi.
