Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye has arrived in Kenya to be the distinguished Guest of Honor at the Mashujaa Day celebrations scheduled for Monday in Kitui County.
Youth, Creative Economy, and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya welcomed President Faye at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday.
It is my distinct honor, as the Escort of Honor, to receive and welcome His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
President Bassirou is in Kenya to grace tomorrow’s Mashujaa Day Celebrations in Kitui County as a distinguished Guest of Honor, and to undertake a State Visit aimed at deepening and strengthening the bilateral relations, cooperation, and shared aspirations between Kenya and Senegal.
Beyond the national holiday, Faye's visit is also a State visit intended to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Kenya and Senegal in areas including trade, energy, innovation, and youth empowerment.
The Mashujaa Day celebrations at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui will proceed as planned, despite the recent national mourning following the death and state burial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
