Renowned Kenyan Artist Dismisses Dialogue Calls Between Youth And Government

BY BARAKA SIMBA
Kenyan renowned performing artist, passionate environmentalist, social media influencer, storyteller, and composer KamaNu M’tumwaari has joined the growing voices dismissing calls for dialogue between the youth and the government.
Speaking during the fifth episode of the Hashtag Podcast, aired on Signs TV every Monday from 10 PM, KamaNu emphasized that the demands made by Gen Z are already recognized in the Constitution. He called on the government to uphold the law rather than entertain unnecessary talks.
The Meru dialect musician stated that the country is in turmoil because the youth feel their concerns are not being addressed. He said, "It’s only human that when you push someone to the wall, they will eventually react."
He dismissed the dialogue efforts proposed by several leaders, including a recent one by ODM party leader Raila Odinga. According to KamaNu, dialogue cannot be the solution because there is nothing to talk about.
"Gen Z is asking for things that are already in the Constitution. They’re simply requesting the government to uphold it, stop extrajudicial killings, and end corruption. What dialogue do we need in this?" the artist questioned.
