The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has reported significant success in its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which began on September 29, 2025.

As of October 31, the Commission has registered a total of 90,020 Kenyans as new voters. IEBC chairman Erastus Ethekon, in a press release, confirmed this milestone and emphasized that the exercise fulfills the Commission’s constitutional mandate under Article 88(4).

Beyond new registrations, the CVR exercise also saw 15,619 voters transfer their registration to preferred polling stations and 188 individuals update their personal details.

Geographically, three counties led the national count for new voter registrations: Nairobi County recorded the highest with 16,512 new voters, followed by Kiambu County with 9,917, and Machakos County with 4,026 new voters, reflecting steady progress in citizen engagement across the country.
