Ombeta Alleges Nairobi Hospital Board Member Abducted, Dumped in Pangani

Lawyer Chris Ombeta has claimed that his client Chris Bichage was abducted on Friday night in Nairobi before being dumped in the Pangani area under unclear circumstances.
According to Ombeta, Bichage, who serves as a board member at The Nairobi Hospital, was allegedly seized by unknown individuals and later abandoned, raising alarm over his safety and the motive behind the incident.
The lawyer said the alleged abduction could be connected to an ongoing leadership and governance dispute surrounding the hospital, which is managed by the Kenya Hospital Association.
Ombeta argued that the incident appears to be linked to attempts by certain interests to forcefully take control of the hospital and its valuable land holdings in Nairobi.
The claims come amid a prolonged leadership wrangle at the hospital that has seen board members clash over management decisions, governance procedures and control of the institution.
In previous court filings, Bichage challenged moves that removed him from key leadership positions, arguing that the process violated corporate governance rules and denied him a fair hearing.
The dispute has repeatedly spilled into the courts and the public arena as rival factions within the hospital’s leadership struggle for influence over the management of the facility.
By Saturday, it was not immediately clear whether police had launched investigations into the alleged abduction, as authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
