Tragedy struck Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) after two male students were found dead inside a rented house in Maraba Estate, Kakamega County. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected murder‑suicide.

The bodies were subsequently taken to Kakamega Referral Hospital morgue for post‑mortem examinations to confirm causes of death and clarify whether one of the students killed the other before taking his own life.
