Ministry of Labour Warns Kenyans Against "Inua Jamii Foundation Empowerment" WhatsApp Scam

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a deceptive scheme circulating on social media, particularly via WhatsApp, under the name "Inua Jamii Foundation Empowerment." The fraudulent initiative promises financial support to unsuspecting individuals, leading to potential exploitation.
In an official statement released today, Joseph Motari, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, clarified that the "Inua Jamii Foundation Empowerment" is not a legitimate government entity. "No such organization exists under the Government of Kenya," PS Motari declared.
Motari further cautioned the public that the scheme is not sanctioned by the government and urged extreme vigilance. He emphasized that all official communications regarding genuine Inua Jamii cash transfer programs are exclusively disseminated through the verified channels of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs.
The Ministry has encouraged members of the public to report any suspicious messages and to rely solely on official government communication for accurate information on social protection programs.
