Mandonga Suspended From Boxing Over Health Concerns
The Tanzanian Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission suspended Karim Mandonga from fighting citing health concerns.
The decision came after Mandonga suffered two consecutive technical knockout losses, to Kenya's Daniel Wanyonyi in February and Uganda's Moses Golola in July.
The TPBRC said that Mandonga would be allowed to return to the ring only after he undergoes a thorough medical examination and is cleared by a doctor.
While speaking to the media at Muhumbili National Hospital, TPBRC secretary general, George Lukindo stated that any boxer who is knocked out is compelled to undergo tests or for a doctor to assess them for any effects from their match.
Mndonga is a charismatic fighter who believes in naming his fists and thinks that they give him an edge in the ring.
He named his fists "Sugunyo" and "Kinguki." Suguyo means "The Crusher" in Swahili, while Kinguki means "The Hunter." These names reflect his aggressive style of boxing.
The Tanzanian boxer is a true showman who entertains the crowd with his every move and fights with passion and determination.
