Mali triumphed over Tunisia to win 1-0 in their Group F match, of the Africa cup of Nations at Stade Municipal de Limbe.

Ibrahima Kone’s penalty at the 48th minute separated the two teams after a handball, giving Mali the three points.

Tunisia had a chance of their own but Captain Wahbi Khazri could not convert the penalty, as it was saved by Mali goalkeeper Ibrahima Mounkoro 13 minutes from time.

The game however turned to chaos after referee Janny Sikazwe of Zambia blew the full-time whistle twice before the 90th minute.

The referee initially blew for the end of the game with 85 minutes on the clock, before doing so again at the 90th minute, despite a number of stoppages in the second half, including two VAR checks that demanded extra time.

Both teams are back in action for their second Group F matches on Sunday, January 16. Mali face Gambia, while Tunisia take on Mauritania.
