Magoha: "Parents Who Don't Cooperate On Fee Payments To Be Reported To My Office"

Education cabinet secretary Prof. George Magoha has directed school administrations to report non- cooperating parents on fees payment to his office for prompt action.

Speaking at Tambacha C.O.G. Day and Mixed secondary school in Marani sub-county where he commissioned two CBC Classrooms and gave 20 computers to the school,  the CS commended the sub-county for attaining  100% in the provision of the facilities.

School principal  Amos Maroria had cited inadequate computers among other learning infrastructures to facilitate computer studies.

The  CS instructed principals to first communicate to parents through cell phone technology over the settlement of fees instead of sending the learners home for collection.

Parents, he noted underwent economic hardships, not of their own making and the majority of them will be positive about the fees payment if engaged in negotiations.

On the impending  Kakamega and Mombasa counties, gubernatorial elections on August 29, 2022,  Magoha urged the electoral body to honor its undertaking with the ministry not to establish tallying centers in boarding schools.

Stakeholders were instructed to be extra cautious and protect learners from any disruptions occasioned by the heightened political temperatures on the polling day.
