Liverpool have officially approached Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz after receiving an initial green light from the player. Talks are ongoing over the transfer fee, with Liverpool pushing to finalize the deal quickly and avoid a drawn-out saga.
This comes amid interests from different clubs including Bayern Munich and Manchester city for the Germany talisman. Manchester city withdrew their interest early this week claiming the deal sounds expensive as per the recruitment process by the club. This was brought about by the the incident where jack Grealish was signed ffkm Aston villa for £100M but the player has since failed to pick form at the Etihad stadium.
Bayern were in the race but have never approached Leverkusen for the signing of the creative midfielder making Liverpool the only side with a concrete interest and move to acquire the player.
Liverpool want to move faster in the negotiations to fend off interest from other clubs as the transfer window opens on 1st June for the expected big summer for Liverpool.
