Liverpool Complete Six Year Deal For Victor Munoz

Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Víctor Muñoz from CA Osasuna on a six-year contract that will keep the Spanish winger at Anfield until June 2032. The move is part of an early summer reinforcement plan as the club begins reshaping its squad for the new era under head coach Andoni Iraola.
The 22-year-old arrives after Liverpool triggered a deal worth approximately €40 million (£34.5 million), activating a release clause in his Osasuna contract. The transfer was finalised quickly once the club identified him as a priority target for attacking depth and long-term development.
Muñoz becomes the first signing under Iraola, who has taken charge of Liverpool and is understood to have strongly backed the recruitment. The coach’s tactical preference for fast, direct wide attackers is seen as a key factor behind the club’s decision to move decisively in the market.
The transfer was concluded after Liverpool advanced talks ahead of several competing clubs, with Newcastle United among those previously linked to the player. The Premier League side managed to secure agreement on personal terms and structure the deal efficiently to avoid a drawn-out negotiation.
Medical assessments were completed while Muñoz was with the Spain national team camp in the United States during the ongoing international tournament period. Liverpool coordinated the process to ensure the player could be officially registered without disrupting his national team commitments.
Muñoz’s reputation has grown rapidly following a standout season in La Liga with Osasuna, where he emerged as one of the most dynamic young attackers in Spanish football. His performances were defined by acceleration, dribbling ability, and versatility across both wings and advanced attacking roles.
During the 2025/26 campaign, he recorded seven goals and five assists across competitions, establishing himself as a consistent contributor in Osasuna’s frontline. His development has also been shaped by earlier spells in the youth systems of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF before progressing into senior football.
At international level, Muñoz has already broken into the Spain senior squad and marked his debut with a goal against Serbia, further elevating expectations around his future impact. His arrival at Liverpool is expected to increase competition in the attacking department as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
