The Kenya Union of Special Needs Educators has re-elected James Torome as its Secretary General following an unopposed national election held in Narok. The outcome extended his leadership tenure and reaffirmed members’ confidence in his stewardship of the union.
In the same exercise, 13 other national officials retained their positions unopposed, signaling strong internal unity and continuity within KUSNET’s top leadership. The uncontested polls reflected broad satisfaction with the current administration’s performance and direction.
Delegates drawn from various counties across the country participated in the election, unanimously endorsing the leadership team. Members praised the officials for effectively championing the rights and welfare of educators working with learners with special needs.
The smooth conduct of the election underscored the union’s cohesion, with no disputes or rival candidates emerging during the process. Observers noted that the consensus-driven outcome demonstrated maturity and stability within the organization.
Returning officer Rebecca Kosgei said the results were a clear indication of trust in the leaders’ ability to steer KUSNET forward. She noted that the unopposed victory reflected members’ belief in continuity and effective leadership.
The re-elected officials have pledged to build on past achievements by strengthening advocacy, improving working conditions for special needs educators, and enhancing engagement with stakeholders. The leadership says it remains committed to advancing the union’s agenda in the new term.
