KPL Pre-Season; Police FC off to Rwanda.

Kenya Police FC are set to pitch a two-week camp in Rwanda in preparation for the new Kenyan Premier League new season.

Police FC will leave the country on Thursday with three friendlies lined up against Rayon Sports, AS Rwanda and Rwanda Police on 27th August, 31st and 3rd September respectively.

According to Police FC Chairman Nyale Munga, the team will be ready to challenge for the Premier League title, going by their preparations so far.

"I’m confident that we will do well next season. We want big friendly matches as a way of exposing our players to a bigger challenge and increase their experience. We also want offer a special platform for them to play together and gel before the season kick-off because we have signed good players who must understand each other quickly," said Nyale.

CEO Chris Onguso, welcomed the decision to take the trip to Rwanda terming it as invitational.

"We want to win the Premier League this season and that's why it is important to test ourselves against the big boys in Africa,” he noted.

Assistant coach Musa Otieno has been leading the team in training at with head coach Sammy Omollo still recovering after undergoing a spinal surgery.

"Having this opportunity to go to Rwanda shows you that we aim very high. Our plan from the start was to have a week or two to prepare outside the country and now the opportunity to go to Rwanda is here, I’m very happy," noted Otieno.

Police will start their 2022-23 campaign against Bandari FC of Mombasa on September 11 at the Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.
