The Kenya Pipeline Foundation (KPC) has formalized a significant partnership with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to KPC in a social media post, this collaboration is a strategic move to deepen support for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the country, aligning with the Foundation's commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development.
The newly signed MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in several critical areas. Key components include joint efforts in the recruitment and identification of beneficiaries, providing education bursaries and covering related costs, supplying essential assistive devices, and creating career and job linkages specifically for the Foundation's Inuka alumni.
The partnership is designed to ensure PWDs are fully supported in achieving self-reliance and an improved quality of life.
The agreement was officially signed by Ms. Zilper Abong'o of the KPC Foundation Board of Trustees and Ms. Eva Njoroge, the CEO of NCPWD.
The event was held in the presence of members of the KPC Foundation Board and senior representatives from both organizations, underscoring the high-level commitment to the initiative.
During the signing event, the Foundation also highlighted its successful Inuka Scholarship Program.
Since its inception in 2017, the program has supported bright and needy students with disabilities from all 47 counties through secondary education.
The program has since expanded to include tertiary education under the Inuka Plus initiative, which currently provides support to 60 students, including 25 from the initial cohorts who have transitioned to university and college.
This formal collaboration with NCPWD is expected to amplify the impact and reach of these vital programs.
