KeNHA to Partially Close Section of Waiyaki Way Until September
News Updated: 19 June 2026 11:25 EAT
A section of Nairobi’s Waiyaki Way will be partially closed for three months starting Thursday, June 25, 2026, to allow for pedestrian infrastructure upgrades.
According to a public notice by Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, the closure affects the Nakuru-bound carriageway between Karuna Close and the Westlands Roundabout. The restrictions will remain in place until Friday, September 25, 2026.
The disruption is required to extend the current Dunhill Towers footbridge and build a new pedestrian bridge connecting Fogo Gaucho and QuickMart Westlands.
During this period, vehicles will be rerouted through the existing service lane. KeNHA has urged motorists to drive cautiously, follow temporary traffic signs, and plan for potential delays along the busy corridor.
