Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka formally launched the Komboa Kenya digital platform and used the occasion to present what he described as a broader political and governance movement aimed at rebuilding public trust and offering an alternative national vision ahead of the next political cycle.
Addressing supporters, coalition leaders, elected representatives and invited guests, Kalonzo said the initiative goes beyond technology and campaign communication and should be viewed as a national moment of reflection and mobilisation.
“This is more than the launch of a platform website. It is our Komboa moment. Komboa is about rising together and about moving from promise to delivery, from potential to progress, and from hope to action. Those who have followed our journey since the Wiper Democratic Front National Delegates Conference know that we did not choose the word lightly. Komboa is not a slogan. It is a covenant between me and every Kenyan who believes that our country needs urgent liberation from the current state of capture.”
He said the digital platform was designed to connect leadership directly with citizens and preserve political history while opening a new avenue for public engagement.
“For the young Kenyan scrolling through a smartphone tonight, this website offers more than information. It offers a glimpse into history. You will find photographs never before shared publicly, moments from campaigns and public service and insights into some of the most consequential chapters in our nation’s journey. You will also find the record of a life spent in public service, not in pursuit of power but in service to our people.”
Kalonzo argued that Kenya’s politics has suffered from a widening gap between leaders and citizens and said devolution must become more meaningful in improving people’s lives.
“One of the greatest tragedies of Kenyan politics is the distance between leaders and the people. The distance between promises made on podiums and realities lived by ordinary Kenyans. The distance between decisions made in Nairobi and their consequences across our 47 counties. People have been paying lip service to devolution. Devolution must work.”
He announced that the platform would incorporate digital engagement tools intended to allow direct interaction between citizens and the movement while also opening a public contribution model.
“We have built this platform to help close that distance. Through our AI-powered engagement platform, every Kenyan can interact directly with this campaign, ask questions, raise concerns and challenge our ideas. This website also includes a resource mobilisation platform because Komboa Kenya is not a campaign funded by cartels or sustained by corruption. It is a people’s patriotic movement and the people must power it.”
The opposition leader also linked the rebranding of Wiper into a patriotic front to changing political realities and the influence of youth participation in public affairs.
“With the recognition of the Gen Z spirit, we realised we did not want to be a laid-back movement. Therefore, we move from being a movement to a patriotic front because the time to get out the arsenal and salvage this country is now. You are the backbone. You, the Wiper members, are the backbone of Komboa Kenya.”
Kalonzo reaffirmed his commitment to opposition unity and said coalition politics would remain central to efforts aimed at challenging the current administration.
“To our brothers and sisters across the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition, our unity is our strength. Together we are stronger than any one party, any one leader or any one community. I salute my core principals in the United Alternative Government and thank them for standing together as a strong team which has sworn to stand with Kenyans until we liberate this country.”
He also used the platform launch to address concerns around school safety and student welfare following recent school tragedies and unrest.
“I cannot stand before you tonight and speak only about websites, digital platforms and AI while our daughters lie buried after tragedy. Their memory deserves more than a moment of silence. It deserves action. Since May, Kenya has watched with growing concern as school after school has experienced unrest, destruction and fire. Students are raising concerns about living conditions, food quality and mental health pressures.”
Kalonzo proposed what he termed four immediate interventions focused on school safety, student welfare and accountability.
“A mandatory national safety audit of every boarding school dormitory, a fully funded national school mental health programme, a comprehensive review of boarding school standards and genuine accountability. No symbolic suspensions, no public relations exercises, but accountability for every official and every administrator who knowingly neglects student safety.”
Turning to governance and economic concerns, Kalonzo criticised what he described as policy failures and called for a return to constitutional order.
“We have experienced power without purpose, witnessed charisma without character and lived through promises forgotten the morning after the oath was taken. We must return this country to constitutionalism. Kenyans feel the cost every day in higher taxes, shrinking payslips, rising fuel costs, struggling businesses, unemployment and growing hopelessness among our young people.”
The Wiper leader also framed his political case around leadership experience and institutional reform.
“Kenya offers leadership grounded in experience, tested by adversity and guided by principle. It offers a leader who has served in government and opposition, participated in peace efforts across the region and remained steadfast in commitment to the people.”
Kalonzo said the movement’s wider objective is to rebuild trust and renew confidence in public institutions while strengthening opportunities for future generations.
“Today we have written down our vision and made it accessible to every Kenyan. Now we invite each one of you to help write the next chapter. Not as spectators but as builders of the Kenya we all deserve — a Kenya that rewards enterprise, meritocracy and hard work, not privilege and political patronage.”
He concluded by urging supporters to remain organised and optimistic about the future while presenting Komboa Kenya as a long-term national project.
“We shall rebuild trust. We shall restore our dignity including the dignity of the payslip. We shall renew the promise of our republic and leave the next generation a country worthy of their hopes, talents and dreams. Together we shall Komboa Kenya.”
