Kabras New Prinsloo Sevens winners
Kabras Sugar are the winners of the third leg of SportPesa National Sevens Circuit after overcoming Kenya Harlequins 10-5 in the final of Prinsloo Sevens at Nakuru Athletics Club on Sunday.
Efforts from Briason Adaka and John Ekubu in the first half were enough to seal the victory for the Felix Ayange led side despite an effort from Harlequins’ Substitute Luck Dewald.
Dala Sevens Champions KCB settled for third place after beating rivals Menengai Oilers 22-12, garnering 56 points after three legs played so far, 7 behind sugar millers Kabras who have accumulated 63 points.
KCB 7s Assistant Coach Denis ‘Ironman’ Mwanja has urged his charges to shift their attention to the upcoming Christie 7s after emerging 3rd during the concluded Prinsloo 7s at the Nakuru Athletics Club.
“Today, we have blown hot and cold, we did not fire when we were expected to despite having prepared adequately for this leg of the series. We were 3rd at the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa and even though this is a marathon, we need to up our game to reach the finals. Right now, we must re-energize and embark on our training before the Christie 7s which is just a week away,” reckoned Mwanja.
The 4th leg of the National Sevens Circuit will be held next weekend at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi before the 5th edition in Eldoret.
