Jill Biden Tours Africa
U.S. first lady Jill Biden is set to visit Kenya as part of her five-day Africa tour.
The trip will focus on education, health and empowering youth and women, she said in a statement on social media.
Mrs. Biden will hear from those affected by drought and food insecurity in the country.
Movement at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will be closed at specific hours on Friday to facilitate the VVIP movement.
The closure will be from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm while on Sunday, February 26, 2023, it will be from 6 am to 6 pm.
The Kenya Airport Authority advised JKIA stakeholders to relocate their operations to terminal one within the mentioned period to ensure the smooth facilitation of Jill Biden's visit.
The Biden administration is planning a slew of high-level visits to Africa this year to counter the influence of China and Russia on the continent.
On Wednesday she arrived in Namibia's capital Windhoek before heading to Heroes' Acre, a war memorial, with the first lady of Namibia.
It is Jill Biden's first trip to Africa as first lady.
