The International Tennis Federation (ITF) wheelchair event is slated for September 27-30 at the Nairobi Club.

This is the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour 2023 M25 Nairobi organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The tournament will be played on hard courts and will be open to players with a disability classified as wheelchair players.

It will feature singles and doubles draw. The singles draw will have a field of 32 players, while the doubles draw will have a field of 16 teams.

Team Kenya executive officer Nancy Nduku told the Star that the team has a good crop of players who will make the country proud.

According to Nduku, competitors will earn ranking points, which will count towards the Paris Olympics qualification.

The top four players in the singles draw will earn ATP points, and the top two teams in the doubles draw will earn ATP points.

She said the tournament is expected to attract a number of top wheelchair tennis players from around the world.

The tournament is also a great opportunity for Kenyan wheelchair tennis players to compete against top international players.

The ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour 2023 M15 Nairobi is a higher-level tournament, and only the top players in Kenya will be eligible to compete- likes of Phoebe Masika, Jane Ndenga, and Asiya Sururu.
