Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary (PS), Raymond Omollo, has confirmed that the government will fully operationalize all gazetted administrative units nationwide within the next six months. Speaking in Agenga village, North Kadem Ward, Nyatike Sub-county, the PS stated that the objective is to bring government services closer to the people and ensure equitable service delivery at the grassroots level.
During his visit, which included a harambee for a Community-Based Organisation (CBO), PS Omollo met with local youth and strongly urged them to focus on economic empowerment. He advised them to "take up opportunities presented by the government... rather than waiting for handouts from politicians, who use them to set and settle their political woes."
The PS also highlighted the ongoing government effort to expand the Lower Kuja Irrigation Scheme. The scheme currently irrigates 7,200 acres and has the potential to expand to 19,000 acres, with the goal of boosting national rice production and creating much-needed job opportunities for the youth of Nyatike and Migori.
PS Omollo also commissioned the local Konyango West Football Tournament and discussed the Huduma Mashinani initiative, which will facilitate the acquisition of National Identification Cards (IDs) for youth at the grassroots. He emphasized the crucial role of the ID for accessing government services and voting in the upcoming 2027 General Elections.
Finally, the PS called upon the Nyanza community to embrace and support the Broad-Based Government to ensure the successful delivery of its agenda. He urged, "Let’s all support our President to achieve his agenda for the people to benefit from the fruits of our taxpayers’ money." In attendance, promoting support for the government, were local MPs Tom Odege (Nyatike), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), and Samwel Atandi (Alego Usonga).
