The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer, Marjan Hussein Marjan, has assured Kenyans that all preparations for Thursday's by-elections are finalized, promising a free, fair, and credible electoral process.
Speaking after leading a multi-agency security meeting in Mbeere North Constituency, Marjan confirmed that the commission has concluded all necessary logistical and security arrangements across the affected areas.
"All polling stations in Mbeere North and other by-election areas will have adequate security," Marjan stated, addressing concerns over the electoral environment.
The IEBC has since deployed both uniformed and plain-clothes police officers to all "hotly contested" by-election zones.
This comprehensive security measure is intended to prevent violence and ensure orderly voting during the upcoming polls.
The by-elections are being held in constituencies and wards where seats became vacant due to resignations, court rulings, or the deaths of the incumbents.
Marjan called on candidates, political parties, and supporters to maintain peace, respect the law, and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
