Human Rights Groups Demand Urgent Medical Aid for Abducted Kenyan Activists in Uganda

Human rights and civil society groups, including the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Amnesty International, and Vocal Africa, are demanding immediate medical attention and the release of two Kenyan activists, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo.
The activists were reportedly abducted in Kampala, Uganda, nearly a month ago, and their whereabouts have remained officially unknown ever since, despite numerous appeals and legal attempts.
Nicholas Oyoo is known for his regular appearances as a guest on the Politics Today show hosted by Jona Simba on Signs TV.
The organizations claim that, through sources in Uganda, they have received credible but informal intelligence alleging that the two men are being held in detention and their health is rapidly deteriorating due to severe torture.
Despite a recent Habeas Corpus application filed in a Ugandan court to compel authorities to produce the two, the court ultimately dismissed the application, categorizing the men as 'missing persons' after Ugandan military and police officials denied holding them.
The activists have called for peaceful demonstrations, which are slated to target Ugandan economic interests.
Specifically, the groups are mobilizing for the occupation of the Ugandan Embassy in Nairobi and the closure of the critical Busia and Malaba border crossings. Furthermore, they have called for a complete shutdown of all Ugandan-owned businesses in Kenya for a full day Today.
