Government Disburses Sh2.4 Billion for Inua Jamii Program

The Inua Jamii initiative, a government cash transfer program that supports persons with severe disabilities and older persons above 70 years, has disbursed Sh2.4 billion for the September 2025 payment cycle. The funds will benefit over 1.2 million recipients.
According to Labour and Social Protection Principal Secretary Joseph Motari, each beneficiary will receive Sh2,000, with payments having commenced on October 6, 2025.
PS Motari reaffirmed that the initiative remains an important pillar of the government’s social protection strategy, serving as part of the government's efforts to cushion vulnerable groups from poverty and economic hardship.
“Inua Jamii remains a cornerstone of the government’s social protection strategy," said PS Motari. "It is aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting the welfare and dignity of the most vulnerable members of society.”
