Egypt got the better of Ivory Coast winning 5-4 on penalties, in what was a dramatic shoot-out at the Stade Douala arena, following a 0-0 draw in the Africa Cup of Nations last 16.

Liverpool forward Salah scored from the spot, after Manchester United defender Eric Bailly provided the only miss of the shoot-out, handing Egypt direct ticket to Quarter Finals.

Egypt dominated the game and could have had an early goal, when striker Omar Marmoush hit the bar instead at the 17th-minute, and Ivory Coast goal keeper Badra Sangare had to tip over Salah’s attempt.

More action followed in second hals as Egypt Goal keeper El Shenawy had to tip over Haller’s 70th-minute header and saved Wilfred Zaha’s attempt with his legs as the 90 minutes ended goalless.
