Communities Urged to Join Forces with Security Agencies against Al-Shabaab
Ugaas Hussein, the General King of the Awliyahan community in Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia, has urged the communities to unite and assist their governments in combatting the Al-Shabaab threat in the Horn of Africa. Speaking at a meeting in Garissa, Hussein emphasized the crucial role communities play in providing information about suspected criminals to security authorities.
The Northeastern region has grappled with security challenges due to attacks launched by insurgents from Somalia. Hussein stressed the need for collaboration between communities and security agencies, asserting that collective efforts can prevent attacks and address security threats more effectively.
Garissa County Peace Chairman, Osman Ibrahim Abdi, echoed Hussein's sentiments, highlighting the importance of community engagement in curbing insecurity. Mohamed Abdi Farah, a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Dadaab, emphasized the significance of sharing actionable intelligence to ensure security and stability.
Communities across the three countries are urged to unite and safeguard their hard-earned security against Al-Shabaab, whose relentless attacks have adversely impacted various aspects of life. The call for joint action aims to strengthen security measures and protect the well-being of citizens in the region.
