Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has held talks with club officials after pleading guilty to dangerous driving. The French international was sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid community service following an incident in which he was filmed driving his Lamborghini along the hard shoulder of the A3 Esher bypass.
According to reports, Fofana was handed an 18-month community order as part of his punishment. The 24-year-old had previously been banned from driving for two years after committing multiple speeding offences. The latest offence drew widespread criticism over road safety and responsible conduct.
Chelsea have confirmed that they have spoken to Fofana regarding the matter. However, the club did not reveal whether further disciplinary action will be taken against the defender, who is currently recovering from a long-term injury.
Fofana, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City in 2022, has struggled with injuries but remains part of the club’s future plans. The incident adds to the challenges he faces as he works toward regaining full fitness and rebuilding his reputation both on and off the pitch.
