Celebrating 20 Years of Diversity and Inclusion in Kenya
National council of Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with stakeholders, is set to host a two-day conference to commemorate 20 years of progress in diversity and inclusion in the country.
The Conference themed “Celebrating 20 years of diversity and inclusion in Kenya: Stories of Triumphs and Overcoming Barriers” aims to provide a comprehensive platform for persons with disabilities, policy makers, government officials, innovators, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and envision the future of disability inclusion.
The event, scheduled for November 27th and 28th, 2024, will be reflecting on the growth, achievements, key milestones, and lessons learned in the promoting disability rights.
The conference will feature engaging panel discussions on pivotal topics such as public-private partnerships driving change and the pursuit of independent living for individuals with disabilities.
The event will also raise awareness about disability inclusion and celebrate diverse abilities by connecting individuals with disabilities, families, and advocates.
It will showcase accessibility innovations, promote advocacy for policy changes, and provide resources. Government officials and stakeholders will highlight their inclusion initiatives, while the event encourages collaboration to develop inclusive practices across all sectors

Along with his Deputy President, Kithure Kindiki, and other government representatives, President Wiliam Ruto will be the main guest at the event,, which will be held at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.
