Canon Central and North Africa Showcases World Unseen in Kenya
In honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Canon Central and North Africa, in collaboration with the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) and the Kenya National Library Service, showcased its World Unseen exhibition initiative in Kenya.
The week-long program, running until December 8, 2024, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., aims to promote inclusivity and accessibility in photography by showcasing works that cater to individuals with visual impairments. Through tactile prints, audio descriptions, and other innovative techniques, the exhibition offers a unique and immersive experience for all visitors.
At an exclusive media event, Hon. Bishop Emeritus Jackson Kosgei, a member of parliament who represents persons with disabilities, Somesh Adukia, the Managing Director of Canon Central & North Africa, Samson Waweru, the Executive Director of the Kenya Society for the Blind, and Dr. Charles Nzivo, the CEO of the Kenya National Library Service, officially launched the exhibition.
Honorable Bishop Kosgei, in his address, lauded Canon's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in technology. He expressed his delight at being part of the groundbreaking World Unseen exhibition.
Kosgei emphasized that Canon's focus on making technology accessible to persons with visual impairments is not only inspiring but also transformative.
He believes that the exhibition empowers individuals with disabilities to explore their creative potential and sends a powerful message about the importance of inclusivity in innovation.
The lawmaker highlighted that the disability agenda is a collective responsibility, further stressing that disability is a possibility for anyone.
