Babu Owino Claims Withdrawal Of Security Is Political Retaliation

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has accused the government of withdrawing his official security as retaliation for participating in peaceful protests. The outspoken legislator said the move was politically motivated and aimed at silencing leaders who speak up for the people.
He condemned the action as an attack on democratic principles.
“This is not just an attack on me; it is an attack on democracy itself.” Said the Embakasi East legislator.
The MP stated that his involvement in the protests was in line with his constitutional right to peaceful assembly and his responsibility to hold the government accountable.
“I exercised my democratic right to protest peacefully against the actions of a government that is failing its citizens,” he said.
Despite the move, Owino reaffirmed his commitment to continue speaking out, insisting that no amount of intimidation would stop him from demanding justice and fairness for Kenyans.
He urged the public to remain alert and united, adding that leaders must be accountable to the people and not use state power to intimidate dissenting voices.
