Attempted Murder Charged For Sagini's Assailants
Three suspects apprehended over master Brighton Junior Sagini’s eye gouging saga in Marani, have been remanded by a Kisii court pending mention of the case in January 18 next year.
The trio Alex Ochogo, Pacifica Nyakerario Ochogo, and Rael Mayieka appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate, Christine and pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted murder.

The charge sheet stated between December 13 and 14 2022 the three attempted to unlawfully cause the death of Brighton Junior Sagini by gouging out his eyes at Ikuruma, Marani sub-county.
Prosecutor, Hilary Kaino, had opposed the suspects’ release on bond or bail saying it will interfere with the witnesses, and be against the interest of justice for their security.
Nduhukire Anita ,representing the minor and George Morara for Kisii County Government had similarly opposed grant of bond or bail to the suspects by the court.
According to Morara, the child was on medication under the Children’s Office.
