Activists Demand Mudavadi and Uganda Envoy Resign Over Missing Kenya Activists, Njagi and Oyoo

A coalition of human rights activists is calling for the immediate resignation of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Kenya's current Ambassador to Uganda, following the prolonged and unresolved disappearance of Kenyan activists John Njagi (also identified as Bob Njagi) and Nicholas Oyoo.
The Civil Society Groups allege that the two activists, who went missing in Uganda over a month ago, are being subjected to torture in solitary confinement in the neighboring country.
The activists contend that the failure by the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Ambassador to establish the whereabouts and secure the release of Njagi and Oyoo represents a grave dereliction of duty in protecting Kenyan citizens abroad.
Njagi and Oyoo, members of the Free Kenya Movement, were reportedly abducted in Kampala, Uganda, on October 1, 2025. The two, who had joined National Unity Platform presidential candidate Bobi Wine’s campaign trail, were reportedly forced into a vehicle and their phones switched off.
The High Court of Uganda categorised Njagi and Oyoo as 'missing persons'. Also, in a sworn statement on Tuesday, October 21, filed by Colonel Silas Kamanda, the military affirmed that it found no entry for the two men.
The UPDF contended that the two are neither detained by them nor located within any of its known facilities.
