Wajackoyah Demands To Meet Raila And Ruto For The Debate.
"We would like to notify you that our candidate Prof Wajackoyah will only attend the debate if he will be debating with the Azimio and Kenya Kwanza presidential candidates," said the Roots Party in a statement on Friday.
Roots Party Presidential Candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah has threatened to boycott the presidential debate set to take place on Tuesday, July 26 at the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA), arguing that as currently set, the event is biased and meant to isolate other candidates.
As it stands, the debate is supposed to happen in two tiers where Wajackoyah will face David Mwaure in the first tire and Ruto will face Raila in the second tire.
Wajackoyah while speaking in Garissa today during his campaign has also reiterated the idea of having him being compared to Mwaure is biased and that the polls have been rigged.
The root’s party leader also stated the popularity count ranking him less than 50% used to have the debate in two tiers is misleading.
