Uhai Festival
The 5th edition of the Uhai Festival turns to Nakuru County for the Rift Valley
circuit, set to be held on 22nd September at Egerton University, Njoro Campus.
The annual event birthed in 2018 by Signs Media Kenya Limited (SMKL) seeks to
set new standards for inclusivity, ensuring that no one is left behind through
nurturing talents of Persons with Disabilities.
Themed “Celebrating Life”, Uhai Festival aims at identifying, harnessing and
supporting talent development in various fields among them entertainment,
sports, film, and arts.
The previous circuit occurred on March 24th, 2023 at the Masinde Muliro
University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and attracted fifteen Institutions
among them Universities, Technical institutions, and colleges.
Persons with disabilities are cordially invited and strongly encouraged to
participate in the diverse range of games available such as sitting volleyball,
amputee football, darts, and table tennis.
Furthermore, the event will feature numerous social activities, including
captivating art performances by various groups.
Teams will be competing for the three big prizes of Ksh.150,000 for the champions, Ksh.100,000 for the second runners-up, and Ksh.50,000 for the third team.
Notably, the Rift Valley Circuit enjoys generous sponsorship from the National
Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) and Chicken Inn.
