Chelsea lifts the conference league in may 2025
Round 2 of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League produced a mix of thrillers and dominant displays across Europe on Thursday night, with AEK Athens and Fiorentina among the standout winners.
AEK Athens delivered a statement performance at home, hammering Aberdeen 6–0 to take early control of their group. Fiorentina also impressed, cruising to a 3–0 away victory over Rapid Vienna to maintain their perfect start.
Elsewhere, Shkëndija edged Shelbourne 1–0, while Drita and Omonia shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw. Häcken and Rayo Vallecano played out a 2–2 thriller in Sweden, and Mainz 05 narrowly beat Zrinjski 1–0 in Germany.
There were also strong home wins for Lincoln Red Imps, who beat Lech Poznań 2–1, and Samsunspor, who defeated Dynamo Kyiv 3–0. In other fixtures, Lausanne triumphed 1–0 over Hamrun Spartans, and Celje picked up a 2–0 win against Shamrock Rovers.
The round concludes later with Rijeka vs Sparta Praha, while Round 3 kicks off on 6 November, featuring mouthwatering ties such as Mainz vs Fiorentina, Shakhtar vs Breiðablik, and Crystal Palace vs AZ Alkmaar.
